The National Curriculum Outdoors series of books have been written by Deborah Lambert, Michelle Roberts and Sue Waite and have a foreword written by Juliet Robertson.
Co-authors Michelle and Deborah were involved with the Natural Connections demonstration project. Sue Waite led that project with over 125 schools across the southwest of England, delivered and evaluated by the University of Plymouth.
The wrting team was joined in 2024 by Dr Alun Morgan.
Alun is the co-author of Bloomsbury's latest book in the series, Sustainability and Climate Change Curriculum Outdoors (a handbook for teachers) which also has a foreword by Dr Paul Wawick (Plymouth Uni).

Deborah Lambert is an Outdoor Learning consultant, formerly a primary and special educational needs teacher and lecturer in Education for the Learning Institute (Worcester Uni).
Deborah delivers courses that are accredited by the Institute for Outdoor Learning (IoL), with tailored outdoor curriculum training for schools. She also delivers curriculum days with classes in schools.
Michelle Roberts is the Director of Arena Schools, an assistant headteacher and founder of the outdoor learning programme 'Wild Tribe Outdoor Learning'.
Michelle delivers training for teachers and school staff with an emphasis on engaging with the curriculum outdoors.
Sue Waite is a former Associate Professor in Outdoor Learning at Plymouth Institute of Education and now holds honorary posts there and at Jönköping University in Sweden. She led Natural Connections - the UK's largest learning in natural environments demonstration project - and has conducted many other research projects on outdoor learning.
Sue is a co-author of The Sustainability and Climate Change Curriculum Outdoors at KS2; a handbook for teachers and the National Curriculum Outdoors – a complete scheme of work (KS1 to Y6) series of books. She wrote the introductory chapters based on solid research evidence about the rationale for developing school-based outdoor learning and how to assess it successfully. She also edited each book in the series.
Dr. Alun Morgan is Senior Lecturer in Education at the University of Plymouth where he leads courses on Environmental and Sustainability Education and Outdoor Learning.
He has over 30 years of experience in education including as a school teacher, advisor, lecturer and researcher.
Alun is a co-author of The Sustainability and Climate Change Curriculum Outdoors at KS2; a handbook for teachers and contributed the introduction and conclusion to the book based on current research evidence about the rationale for raising awareness of sustainability and climate change education within a curriculum of hope,
